Tempo is a self-hosted running tracker that helps you track and analyze your workouts. This guide will walk you through all the features and workflows.

Common Workflows

Daily Workout Import

  1. Export a workout file from your device (Garmin, Apple Watch, etc.)
  2. Go to the Import page
  3. Drag and drop your file
  4. View your workout with maps and analytics

Bulk Import from Strava

  1. Request your Strava data export
  2. Upload the ZIP file via the Bulk Import feature
  3. Wait for processing to complete
  4. Review imported workouts

Backup and Restore

  1. Navigate to Settings → Export / Import
  2. Click "Export All Data" to create a backup
  3. Store the ZIP file safely
  4. To restore, use "Import Data" and upload the export file
  5. Review import statistics to verify restoration

Analyzing Performance

  1. View weekly and yearly statistics
  2. Analyze relative effort trends
  3. Review heart rate zones
  4. Compare workouts over time
